Commitment

I've been thinking a lot about commitment and what it means to me. I remember once telling my friend at the beginning of this year that I find it hard to stay committed to new endeavors. Now, as the year is closing, I don't see myself this way at all anymore.

I have been in a wonderful, silly, strong relationship with the best (albeit metal as anything) boyfriend for a year next month.

I have been consistent at my workplace and have established it as a place I love to be in my heart and mind. I always strive to help anyone I can and I have met some amazing people from all walks of life.

I have strengthened my relationships with my best friends and feel so comfortable being open and honest with myself and with them. My peels and I are an elaborate ecosystem and we are always there to fill in and help each other out. I have made new friends and consistently put in effort to maintain these new relationships. I have few fears of losing any of my friends to college or after graduation-- be they a half hour away and hour away or in south Korea.

I'm in love with tennis and am generally more dedicate to my health and well being. I want to play 7 days a week and love supporting my team. Though I miss every Wednesday for work I haven't missed a match or practice that I have the chance to go to.

Lastly, I am finishing my senior year strong. Though the weeks are winding down to days I am still managing to wake up and get to school and hand in assignments on time. I also 'committed' to Mount Holyoke and though it terrifies me, this is a time in my life where a little bit of terror should be expected (and embraced!).

A resident recently told me I was a "busy girl" after telling her of my plateful. I told her: it's not about being busy it's about all of the commitments that i couldn't not stick with. I don't like to keep busy i like to keep happy.
